Re: [Harp-L] Re: Natalie Ann Cummins

KEEP in mind harp fans:
While Wikipedia is a useful tool to jog your own memory (who has that singer?
song? book title) it frequently is open to abuse.

Same could be said about the Internet in general. No parential supervision,
just a bunch of kids.

As we used to say in the newspaper game: Consider the source. If the site is
legit: a REAL newspaper or news organization, it has credibility. Otherwise,
the information is worth what it costs.

I am not offended by this big about Natalie Ann Cummins, but check out the
medion of Magic Dick's nickname among the list of the performers from 2000 on.
Someone has given him an offensive nickname.

Also note that the entry contradicts itself: It says that Lincoln carried a
harmonica and that Union and Confederate soldiers played harmonicas but in the
history of the instrument itself says that Hohner started shipping harmonicas
to the USA in 1868. When the actual Civil War was 1861-65 and John Wilkes
Booth has assassinated Lincoln long before 1868.
